Installing Apache 2.2.6 on Windows

Download the Zip File here, this Zip Contains all the files required to Install Apache, SVN & Trac. The next few entries will will cover how to install them, step by step and also there is a Video to View [QuickTime | You Tube] You can increase the size of each of the images by clicking on them, so lets get started:
| Unzip the File and go to the Apache Folder. | ![]() |
| double click the installer file "apache_2.2.6-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi". | ![]() |
| You may get a Security Warning, click the Run button to start the installation wizard. | ![]() |
| The installer wizard starts, click the next button on the welcome screen. | ![]() |
| You will then get the License Agreement screen, read and accept them and click the next button. | ![]() |
| The next screen is the read me first blurb, read this if you wish and click the next button. | ![]() |
| The next screen is the server information check you are happy with this. If you already have a web server installed on port 80 you may not get all the options but I will try to cover this soon. Click the next button when you are happy with the details entered. | ![]() |
| The setup type screen is then shown, leave it as typical and click the next button. | ![]() |
| You will then get the destination folder, we want to change the location so that all our files are located in one place, so click the change button. | ![]() |
| This will open the folder selector in this example, change the install folder from c:\Program Files to c:\Apps and click the OK button. [If you are installing on a dedicated server, you may wish to install on a seperate drive] | ![]() |
| Double check the location and then click the next button. | ![]() |
| You are now ready to install, so click the install button. | ![]() |
| The install will start | ![]() |
| Once complete click the finish button. |

| Now check that it has installed correctly by going to a web browser and going to http://localhost |
