Sky Broadband Launch

Ok I should have said this earlier in the week and it only applies to people in the UK.

But Sky have finally announced it's broadband offering, so they now offer the Triple Play like NTL / Telewest.

Personally I think its a great deal, but I could be biased in the fact I work for them :-) So The deal is no matter what TV Subscription package you have (Free sat from sky is not included), you'll get 2mb broadband with a 2gb a month limit for free and for an extra £5 a month you get free calls to UK land line phones (Conditions apply). So from working this out my self:

  • £10 a month BT Line Rental
  • £15 a month Min TV Package
  • £5 a month for the free calls
So that's £30 a month for the same if not more you get from NTL / Telewest.

Then the options get better on the broadband front:

8mb with a 40g limit is an extra £5 16mb with no limit is an extra £10

The 16mb option is only if your in an EasyNet enabled exchange area

Currently this only covers 29% of the UK but will rise to 70% over the next 18 months / end of 2007.

But to launch this they did wrap my work building up in a large banner:
