Friday Thought: Twitter The Info Sharer

I think the purpose of Twitter really has changed since is launch. Today for example I think I've seen more How Do I .... , Who has.... and Anyone .... Questions then normal.

Which I think is great, it means people can ask questions that inspire great answers from everyone on their list, which will of course share it back to everyone. The main tip I would say is to ensure you use the @UserName command before it, so if your replying back with a Thanks that worked and others on you list don't have that person on theirs they can go to your twitter page and click the name and find out what the great response back was.

Sharing of information in this day and age is a must; I remember a long time ago someone said to me that I was like a squirrel hoarding his nuts, using nuts as an analogy for Information. I would share anything and I'd admit in those days I didn't share much, as I was young and it certainly was an advantage for me, especially when people used the age card against me :) But now I'm older and a little wiser (I hope) I'm happy to share information that I have as I know I don't know everything and thus will need others helps. As the old saying says what goes around comes around which I do believe in, both in a good way and the bad way.

So if you've not got the Twitter Bug give it ago (Easy with Google Talk), the information you will learn will astound you, if you have the right people on your list ;) So add me for starters.

Also announced today is the Scotch on the Rock Twitter account, start following SOTR and be the first to know about additional speakers, ticket pricing and availability of tickets as well as other fun and exciting news for the Longest Running UK ColdFusion Conference.

May the Scotch Be With You
