ColdFusion Finally in the UK Main Stream

I opened up my Copy of Web Designer today and what am I greeted with.......... The Face of a Mr Andy Allan, who is their newbie writer, he has started a Series on Getting started with CF 8 for Newbies.

So let me get that straight, the newbie writer is writing for newbies :D

If you haven't picked up your copy yet I suggest you do, it's a great little Magazine and I always come away from reading it with some great ideas and feel I've learnt something, even from Andy's newbie tutorial.

So 2008 is the Year of the Scorpio in the UK (Ok I know should be the year of the Rat, maybe the next few releases of CF should use the Chinese Animals ;) it would give me a few puns to work with)

If you've never touched CF, and the Tutorial inspires you then why not come along to Scotch on the Rocks 2008

May the Scotch Be With You

It's finally here.......

......My Birthday (which is the 22nd Jan) present to the world has now been launched. As you may notice there are now some tabs above here, and one that says TV.

It did at one point stand for TeleVision but I decided that Tutorials in Video was better. The idea being I will try to create a new video at first monthly but hopefully bi-weekly of little tips and tricks that developers of all levels may find useful.

It doesn't have to be all About ColdFusion for it to be useful to a ColdFusion developer, Remember that CF is now on Java and thus we can start to learn some of the tips and tricks that the Java Boys and Girls have been using for years.

I know my voice isn't the greatest but over time I hope to get some guest Voice Overs. I don't mind doing the video and the tutorials just someone record the voice to MP3 or AIF format and I'll wack it all together.

I've decided not to have any intro's or outtros to the videos as it's all about "show me how it's done while I follow your instructions and then I can do it myself with confidence". See it as Pair Programming Remotely with me showing how to do it once.

I look forward to any comments people would like to make and ideas on what to cover next. I have some ideas already based around Trac like Backups and Plug ins to extend it. Along with using SVN and Trac in Eclipse.

So once again go check out http://inner-rhythm.co.uk/TV

PS I haven't had time to Proof read all the entries as I wanted it out today :D
